Sony is getting into the EV car biz

"The car has 33 safety sensors, sophisticated in-car entertainment with high-quality speakers, and impressive gaming capabilities."

What?

SONY have no idea how to do this in today's world. Distraction rather than innovation:

This looks like some VP wants to do a project to build his empire to get promoted, and once he is promoted he will just kill this project.

I don't think they have done much since they gave up on the consumer electronics business, and they have never done much in the appliance business either.

I thought they sold their battery business long ago and they also aren't great with chips, so, why should I trust Sony on EV? I would trust Mitsubishi more even when I don't trust Mitsubishi's cars in the US.

Actually, let me cross that off too, I would trust NIO, BYD, Wu Ling, Tata, Mahindra, Lada, etc long before I would trust an EV from Sony.

The idea is that they are looking ahead to when you will not be driving the car. Those distractions will keep you busy or entertained as you travel whether it is working in a mobile office setup or communicating with others in a meeting or perhaps family conversation.

Or you can watch entertainment. You will be along for the ride. That’s all.

The last Sony product I bought was a 115K HDCAM SR.

I got about 2 years rental out of it and the Tsunami wiped out the only plant that manufactured the tape for it.

Prior to the SR series Sony allowed 3rd parties to license media for their Digital Betacams, not wanting to miss a dollar of revenue they domed the entire user bases investment in the product.

Still made money on it, but nowhere near what I should.

This industry sea change gave rise to my current companies success.
