Something about lucas and cold weather made me

Guys I having this feeling about NEED changing out my rear diff fluid again.( but i dont know I need to or not ) I replace pinion seal on my rear diff 300miles ago. change out oil with lucas 80w90 with ford LSD addictive. Reason I pick lucas cause the bottle say " running cool and quiet ", and all I heard about lucas is it heavy and thicker, since cold weather coming up, im affaird it will be too thick for cold weather. Guy tell me that " lucas is fine and you good for 30k miles , leave it alone " so I can get over this feeling it need to be change. If I change out, im going to run 80w90 valvoline with ford lsd addictive.

Lucas makes many products.
The Lucas oil stabalizer stuff is real thick. The 80w90 gear oil should be just that..80w90.

So you think it fine for 30k+ miles right ?

I have run many 80w90 gear oils down to -20F and never had a problem Im sure you will never see temps that cold or near that would not change a thing.

Chevy specs that weight for all season right? You should be fine.

Ran 75w90s and 80w90s in my old Tercel's transaxle in much colder temps than that. Same deal in both my Ranger's diffs, same Canadian winter. Not a problem. Hardly a difference between 75w90 and 80w90 anyways, and you certainly wouldnt want anything thinner in a diff. They need thick, and they HEAT UP even in the winter.

guys its not the weight that im concern about, its lucas made it that what im concern about. I havent seen any lucas gear oil UOA before or any one here actually run it and like it.

that the synthetic version. Do u have a none synthetic lucas test ?

I have had Lucas 80W-90 in my 10 bolt (same axle/ring and pinion as yours, but a different diff) in the dead of our winter here (MUCH colder than you will almost EVER get) with NO, ZERO, NADA problems what so ever.

Is it the "best" mineral gear oil out there? NO, but it will not hurt anything either.
