Looks the inventory of cordless lawnmowers at my local Home Depot exceeded the gas powered ones. Rhyobi and Dewalt is being stocked. The Dewalt can hold two 12 AH batteries. That’s a lot of Vampires! 🧛‍♂️🦇

I was just in Home Depot this evening and they had more electric push mowers than gas powered ones. And not one with a Honda engine, all cheaper Briggs.

How long does a full charge last? I know there are different capacity batteries. Lets just say a middle of the road capacity. My lawn takes 25 mins to cut. How long would a charge last? 2 cuts? 3 cuts? Do you charge after each use?
Thanks In Advance

We have owned this model now for 3 seasons (counting this year as number 3).

The battery capacity is now around 65 - 70 minutes depending on the temperature and how much start stop times we have done while cutting the yard. This mower has the Briggs Brushless motor system like many of these "store or extended branded) mowers do. I live on a corner lot with a 45 degree plus hill, and I can tell you with sincerity, I will never go back to a gas mower again.

Attached here is the detail on the Briggs motor and battery system. Like I said in my previous post this used by several store brands, as well as Snapper. The motor is load sensing so RPMs are even constant in heavy tall grass. Another thing my wife likes is the ability to move the mower via the self propel switch without the blade turning.

Dewalts have lasted me 10 years easy with semi daily use at work.
I’m starting year 4 on my Dewalt 5Ah Lithium battery which powers my weed whacker and reciprocating saw. These aren’t grandpa’s NiMH batteries. Mine still has its full power. If you want a second one, the price has dropped to about $65.

I don't blame them for selling mostly electric lawnmowers, that's where the market is. It only makes sense for people with small yards. Around here, everybody has to have a zero turn because you're not cool if you don't have one. Even the folks on 1/4 acre lots, I get a chuckle out of it.

.my guess is 12 to 15 min per battery. You would need 2 or 3 batteries to mow . Its just a guess.

The battery mowers have certainly come a long way, but if I was to buy one I would buy a brand where I liked their other battery powered equipment as well, and stick with one system. Toro has a pretty decent line-up of battery equipment that all takes the same batteries. Less hassle dealing with all the same batteries and chargers.

Small gas engines are in short supply. That may be a reason they are stocking so many electrics.
