Soldier throws puppy off a cliff!!!

War is a brutal thing and a soldier is expected to do brutal stuff. It's better a puppy than a toddler.

Yep, 13 years ago, I worked with a weekend warrior (lieutenant) who was describing some horrific stuff that they did to animals.

I suggested that there may well be a special place for such people, and his response was that they don't discourage these things, as the soldiers really need to be desensitised to do the things that they may be called on to do.

He was serious too.

Just like when he described ironing another cadet's shirt with the cadet still in it as a valid demonstration of authority, discipline, and character building.

or to humans. That lady that killed her preacher husband in Selmer TN not too long ago is now out of jail. She's trying to get custody of her kids back. She might get it scrubbed from her record too.

As an 8 year old, would YOU want to be returned home to your mom who you KNOW killed your dad? That's FAR more cruel than this alleged puppy incident in war time. When put in context, it's just an anti-war ploy for those who are anti-war. These same folks who produce such stories to soothe their own guilt and forward their own self-centered ideals don't show up at the 8 year old's door to defend her from her killer mom do they? Which is more important? The 8 year old, of course! But for most of us, it's about the emotional knee-jerk reaction, that's why this story 'sells'.... we'll continue to feel awful for the puppy (which is a normal human reaction) and never bat an eye at the 8 year old who has to live a life of he** with her killer mom.

Interesting how we only hear the bad things about war in our news media. Where are all the good stories? There are plenty of them, but obviously these stories don't 'sell'. We live in a Jerry Springer age, isn't it wonderful?

I agree but this animal was dead or stuffed before it went over the cliff. Doesn't excuse the retarded tape though.

The answer could be 'yes'. You need to look at the (former) dad.

The dad was vilified in court by a really good lawyer who followed the mantra that dead men can't answer back so any ol' lie can be told about them. Watching this play out was a pathetic injustice on so many fronts as it was about pulling the heart-strings of the jury with lies and more lies. Very little that was said of the deceased victim could be substantiated and was hear-say.

This puppy incident immediately pulls the heart strings but is a speck of dust in the larger picture that is missed so often by so many.

My impression is: FAKE, but if it's not, then I assume appropriate prosecutions (well-deserved) will follow shortly.
