So what is in lube control

What is in lube control that does the cleaning? I have two relatively new vehicles, 02 ford focus ZTS which ran valvoline until 15K then amsoil XL7500 and a 03 tacoma V6 that has run valvoline until 10K then amsoil Full Synthetic 5w30, so i was wondering what is in it? I am curious as to what i am contemplating dumping into 50K dollars of machinary? I want these vehicles to last forever and am afraid of additives that may damage gaskets/seals. Should I just stick with the conventional oil flush every 30K miles (where you do a couple of short 500 mile interval oil changes)

No one is going to tell you what is in it! It is propritary! It is a deactivated solvent like product. It also exhibits anti-oxident properties. It has been well tested by Terry Dyson and the report can be read at the LC site for free. Short of that you could always buy some and run some tests on it yourself. Getting a burn will run about $400 or more dollars though.

It used to be an additive used by an oil company out of Texas. For some reason no one that knows the name of the company seems willing to mention it.

I understand your concern but it proably not a real issue. Most modern imports use Viton, and Teflon as their primary seal materail.Sometimes Neoprene is used but not often. These materials do fine with just about any solvent ever used or designed for use in automotive apllications. You also have to look at the treatment rates used with the modified LC instructions.

Worse case just use Auto-Rx all the time! It is not solvent based and is about as benign as things get for automobiles!

Has anyone seen an MSDS?

It shouldn't be problem for LC to post one for us. An MSDS doesn't give away any secrets.
