Beautiful day hear in Central Illinois. Is there a bad age for snow days???
At 10...no school, sledding, skating etc.
At 20...no school, the local tavern, chicks at college,... you know the rest.
At 30...you get to take the 5 year old sledding, skating etc.
Now I just build a fire, transfer some teens around, and enjoy an excellent winter day, while doing a lil work.

Lucky you... I have to head out to the office right about now. Not looking forward to the commute...

No snow day here. I got a front row seat to the darwin awards on the freeway to work. I do get to snowblow when I get home, which after three years the novelty still hasn't worn off.

No real problems for me today. I cross the Poplar Street Bridge and drove right to the Stadium West garage. Signed up for my reserved parking spot since I need to have my car with me now. (The metrolink won't cut it anymore.)

It was painless. I drove 40-45 on I64 Westbound, and crossed the bridge at the same speed.

Probably a faster commute today compared to most days heading into downtown STL.

Sure, it's going to get cold and the snow is going to blow around. But so far, this really has been a non-event, other than all the news coverage. "Worst storm in a decade" is what they say.

Meh. That's my response.

Snow is a way of life. When I was working it was up early to clear the drive so I could get out and fight the crowd. Now I just pour another cup of coffee and say I will get to it later.

Let it snow.

Snow?? What's that???

It seems like everyone is getting big snowstorms this year (even Texas!) while Toronto and the surrounding area is coming up unscathed! Weird!

If we're going to get hit with any big snowstorms this year, now is the best time for me, as I'm off work for a few more weeks and won't have to drive anywhere :)

I have had 2 storms to blow away. Both were 20F snows and powder. I have 2 old Ariens blowers. I have them pretty much running reliably. Out of 5 old freebie blowers, I have wound up with these 2 Frankensteined 5+6 HP Sno Thros. Neither one is perfect, but if they stay running, I can clear my driveway and turn- around in under 2 hrs. I am running one on the dregs of my rich 32:1 2 stroke gas. I love the smell of MMO on a sunny day.
