I've got 2 smoke detectors in my apartment. When I turn on the oven (gas), even before it warms up, they both start beeping. I don't know why, there is no smoke, that I can detect, present. I hate to pull the batteries, it's a pain to replace them. Any ideas on how to stop this, besides not using the oven?

Are they also carbon monoxide detectors? You could have a more serious problem...
Well, they might be ion detectors. Probably plenty of ionized material in gas stove exhaust. You could try changing to a photosensitive type.
When batteries get weak, they make a smoke detector beep.
Try new ones.
