Today is new firearm day! Wanted this specific model. Didn't want the PC model as the trigger difference wont matter for me as this will be primarily CCW. I also didn't want the ported barrel.

I opted for the Optics cut slide just to have the option. Plus, it comes with stock night sights from truglo that are decent. I got a great deal on this. About $130 less than MSRP. They had to order this, ordered Tuesday, came Saturday. I also got a 50 round box of target ammo and 20 round box of Sig Sauer Elite Defense ammo to test out before getting a 50 round box.

Went home to field strip, clean, and lube. This also helped get accustomed to the firearm. Feels great in the hand. I prefer the grip feel with the 13 round mag but the 10 round mag with flush fit feels decent.

Dry firing, the trigger feels great. I won't be able to go to the range until Tuesday, so I'll add more details/review then.

Also, the BraDec holster came in today. Feels great and awesome retention. Holster was $30 after shipping/taxes. Adjustable cant but otherwise not fancy.

Very nice. Do you plan to mount an optic? I love mine, especially the trigger on the Plus. It's my (mostly) EDC in a Tulster Profile molded for the TLR6.
Nice! I havent decided yet. I'm still looking at options. It seems like the only way to go is a holsun with an adapter, since I'm not going to modify my slide. Or get a Crimson Trace one for co witness. But they seem not good.

That's my wife's e d c. She carries in her purse in a crown royal bag. She loves it.
My current edc has been my sw 686 plus. But when spring and summer hit in Georgia, I'll be in shorts and a t shirt

I see the value in a high VIZ holster.....lefty?

I love this pistol. I’ve had mine for a few years and don’t have the optics cut. This is my primary carry pistol and what I like most is the trigger, size/capacity combo, and grip. This has been a very easy and enjoyable pistol to shoot given its relatively small size. I think you’ll really like it as well.

Thanks for that comment! I'm looking forward to trying it on Tuesday. Does it seem to work well with any brand ammo? Or is it better with certain types?

Do some research on optics. You will find many that fit and do not need a plate. I did.

Haven’t noticed any difference between ammo manufacturers. It’s never jammed on anything I’ve fed it. One thing I do to help learn and maintain trigger discipline is to use a laser cartridge. Saves me on ammo costs and I can practice year round in my basement.
Agree. Mine fires anything I put in it, and I buy whats ever on sale for range days.

I've put several thousand rounds of all kinds of 9mm ammo through it and never had any fail to feed, fail to fire, or other issues at all. Kinda reminds me of a fat cousin at your family reunion, eats everything in sight. Mine has taken everything from standard 115gr. round nose target to very hot 147gr. +P Corbon in stride. Obviously, bigger/hotter stuff gives more recoil and fury, but nothing brutal or unmanageable. Maintain a firm grip, and it's a pleasure to shoot. Break it in with some standard pressure 115gr., then follow up with a few higher pressure rounds, preferably what you will defensively carry so you know what to expect. Have a blast 😁.

Thanks! I've got standard stuff to start and a 20 round box of Sig Sauer Elite Defense to run through as well. If all goes as expected, that'll be my carry ammo.

My wife has shot many different brands and weight of ammo in her shield. The most accurate and most controllable "double tap" she liked was Fed Hst 124 grain.

Just got back from outdoor range! Pretty cold out but made it work. Put 300 target rounds through it then 20 rounds Sig Dauer Elite Defense rounds. No issues at all. Gotta get used to the sights compared to my SW 686 revolver but once I figured it out (started out shooting low), it was better. This was 11 yards out. First day using this gun so I'll take it. Got better as i went.
