After several 6 x 1-qt bottle OCs with M1 I recently used the Havoline Lifelong ProDS to see if a minor oil consumption issue improves. After roughly the same OCI there did seem to be more oil left on the dipstick, but after refilling I noticed that the oil level started higher, almost to the top of the hatched area, vs. right in the middle with the M1.

Note: I do remove the bag from the box and lightly squeeze out the remaining product. Could Chevron be overfilling to account for incomplete pouring bag vs. bottle? Or, is the extra 1/3-1/2 qt there sneaky way of addressing oil consumption?

Maybe the one quart bottles hold onto slightly more oil because it has overall more surface area than the bag?
You may be on to something. Worst case 1 tbsp / bottle X 6 = ~0.1 qt. I wouldn’t expect that to move the level 1/2 the hatched area, but I’m going off memory so that could be it.

Does Jif give you more peanut butter because you can't get it all out of the jar? 😁

I don't really like the bag-boxes. I use a 5 qt widemouth M1 jug as an intermediary dispenser and need three hands-- one on the spout, one on the jug, and one on the box to dispense without dribbling. I do collapse the box and manipulate the bladder for the last little bits, but find the routine, IDK, gross?

I think this thread is related to the OP's issue. https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/threads/havoline-smart-change-bag-issue.363776/

Maybe Havoline is adding an extra 1/2 quart to compensate?
I'm not saying its impossible just highly unlikely an oil company gives away 1/2 a quart of oil on every box/bag they sell. Multiply by the thousands of bags being sold and it would be a huge loss. Maybe a few thousand bags slipped trough because a calibration issue but I doubt it is the company's standard practice
