I'm in need of a small tool cart to bring around with me when working in the garage. Just something I can put some tools in that are going to be used for whatever job I'm doing. I'm having the problem of tools everywhere! Especially in the case of doing brake jobs, picking up all the tools and moving to the other side of the car just means I end up with even more tools on the floor. Does anyone use something like this? I was thinking http://smile.amazon.com/Suncast-GDS200-G...DP0F7FETHH1YNHC or maybe something like this but smaller: http://smile.amazon.com/Gorilla-Carts-GO...arrow+gardening

I can't seem to find a good option. I'd like something with 4 wheels so it can run over extension cards and such. A beer holder would be awesome too!

I pulled a really nice metal cart out of the dumpster at work and brought it home to use just as you (OP) describe. But when it wasn't in use it just got to be a royal PITA. It became a place that people would just stack stuff on and I got tired of constantly tripping over it. I gave it away to a neighbor.

Now I cart my tools around the job in a 2-gallon plastic bucket.

I bought a set of cookie trays at Wal-mart.
Small / Medium / Large

1) Good for moving from one side of vehicle to other.
2) A central area for tools while working so none are lost.
3) Catching rust, dirt and oil falling off vehicle.

I am paranoid that such a car would hit my car and destroy the paint or panels. What prevents such type of mishaps in a typical household garage which has limited room around the car for a cart?

They sell foam padding with tape on one side, put that on all the edges that might make contact with a vehicle. Or else find large enough diameter heater hose and run a knife down the side to slide it on the posts.
