it's a crf125f 4-stroke air-cooled, no replaceable oil filter just a centrifugal filter. it's an "F" suffix bike so it's not high performance. no racing, just riding easy trails around here

what's a good OCI in hours?

With my air cooled motorcycles especially, oil temperature seems to have the biggest effect on how often the oil needs to be changed. Riding at high speeds, high loads for extended periods and more so slow riding/ hot idling due to traffic gets the oil extra hot and reduces its useful lifespan. Whenever I feel excessive vibrations/buzzing at higher rpms, that's when I think about changing the oil just for the sake of smoothing out the annoying vibration.

This is from ask ai : The recommended oil change interval for a Honda CRF125F is every 10 hours of ride time This frequent interval is crucial because the CRF125F models, including the 2025 and 2026 versions, do not have an oil filter Without an oil filter, contaminants remain suspended in the oil, making regular oil changes essential to remove them and maintain engine health
