All I wondered is if the NOACK and maybe base oil quality since some of what i read shows "GTL" base stock.

all good. I never got the opportunity to try the SM anyways as wal mart and k mart never stocked it so no real loss at all

LOL

I haven't seen Pennzoil Ultra Euro 5w40 in a while. Tried to buy some on Amazon yesterday, and they don't even list it. PPPP 5w40 comes up instead. So I checked the TDS of PPPP 5w40 against PUE 5w40, and the viscosities are very close, so I'm thinking they are the same thing, it's just the PPPP comes in a silver bottle.

Yes, Pennzoil Ultra Euro 5w-40 was replaced with Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5w-40. There is also Pennzoil Platinum Euro 0w-40 now available as well, but hard to find.

There were some other changes, too, when it comes to Noack and HT/HS viscosity.

Code:

............. Noack HT/HS visc.

PUE 5w-40 SN 6.8% 3.88 cP

PPE 5w-40 SN 6.2% 3.6 cP

Quattro Pete: only place I have ever saw PU euro was at Autozone and the PU 0w40 "SRT" also

Thanks for the NOACK #'s

Oooooohhhhh. The lower HTHS of PPE 5w40 may be a deal breaker for me. HTHS wasn't on the TDS that I checked on the SOPUS website.

Yes. I obtained it via email from a SOPUS employee, so take it for what it's worth.

BTW, the latest M1 0w-40 also has reduced HT/HS viscosity down to about 3.6 cP.
