I have a 95 F150 with 5.0 and 120,000 miles on it . Over the past summer Ive notice the truck is running great one week or a couple of days to running sluggish one week or a couple of days, it various, I use the same gas weekly (mobil) so I dont think it could be the gas? some one mentioned throttle body and or injector cleaning? Milage does seem to be worse when its not running up to par. Right now its running like it was brand new, but then I could run it tonight after work and it will be running sluggish. Air filter is new and complete tuneup done, problem still exist, Any thoughts

Is there any correlation to the weather? In other words, is it sluggish when it rains and fine when it's dry? If so, you have water getting into an ignition component (coil, cap, or wires, probably). When it acts up, if it's dark out look for any stray sparks around the ignition system.

is this at mid-throttle or wide-open? Cruise, accellerating, hauling? Does it have the power just gotta-wait-a-second throttle response?

Could be worthwhile to get a computer scan tool and drive around with it. Does this thing have a Mass Airflow sensor? Fords' are mediocre sometimes, get covered in lint from the air filter. Take MAF apart ginergly, carefully, and clean filament with TB cleaner and q-tip.

O2 sensor good possibility especially if original. Could also be loose electrical wire/plug/connector etc making good contact one day and a bad one the next, also check vacuum lines for small splits/cracks that may open/close with driving vibrations. Done any work on it before problem started showing up? check everything around the work area if so. Off/On problems can be tedious, try to isolate things like AC or any other particulars while problem shows its ugly head..good luck

Its more like a wait a minute throttle response, on my way to work this am truck was running fine- step on gas no sluggish response or hesitation other times it will be sluggish and there will be a hesitation- no get up and go so to speak, as stated it will be ok for a spell and then run as described for a while no warning or anything just happen. Run sluggish all day and then come out of it. Has me baffled.

Sounds like a bad O2 sensor to me. Had the same problem with one of my vehicles. Acted up sporadically for 2 years until it finally just ran like crud one day. New O2 sensor and never another problem. Yours probably has 2, one for each manifold. Have they been replaced?

The O2 sensor is one of the main inputs to control the air/fuel ratio.
