Sweet, I like the fact that a company is taking charge and analyzing most of the oils readily available to see if it is up to the specs it claims.

That's a good sign, if some of the no names have better quality it might mean the competition for the name brands will increase and bring prices down a bit once again.

I've always seen the MotoTech at Fred Meyers(Kroger). I would have no problem buying this oil now!

I just looked and thought that too.
Not bad at all for no-name oils.
Wouldn't be bad for a name brand, either.
Even the worst of the bunch would be okay for the 3K change crowd, and would be just fine as a top-up oil.
Kind of restores your faith in no-name oils.

Wow, thanks! I have been eyeballing the STP that is at a nearby store and pretty reasonably priced, but I've found very little to no information on it from searches. I was actually considering plunking down for a VOA on it, thanks for your work. It looks pretty good too...

I have never seen any of these oils(except Cam2) in my area but, I may keep an eye open for them and if there price is ever right, I'll back up the truck.

Ditto. MotoTech, Cam2, and STP looking good. Murphy seems solid as well. It was interesting to see a good shot of Boron in Cam2 and STP.

I'm sure it is coming from Warren or Exxon/Mobil, as Sams's is owned by Wal Mart and they love volume purchases.

I did some searching on that before, seems it's coming from SOPUS, but other than admitting they make it their pretty tight lipped. Obviously it's no PYB or QSGB but it looks okay.

It's SOPUS. If you look at the cases of oil they have the SOPUS lot numbers on them.

Thanks for the notification on those oils. I really like the graphical representation of some of metrics (viscosity, volatility, etc) in colorful "slide" charts on the individual page for each oil. It makes it very easy to see where that oil stands in the allowable range for the grade/specification.

Well done, PQIA.

Nek167 Are you guys talking about this same "Certified" oil? [URL='http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/browse/4/Auto/3/AutoFluidsChemicals/EngineOils/PRDOVR~0288202P/Autolab+Motor+Oil%2C+5+L.jsp?locale=en' said:

No, the oil in your link is packaged completely different, I don't think it's the same stuff.
