Silicone containing waxes

I found some waxes that I may be interested in getting one day but I wonder if the silicone they contain to make them glossy has a good or detrimental long term effect on the paint job.

I consider a wax to be good if you quit using wax and the vehicle is better off years down the road or did all that waxing provide shiny temporary results at the expense of long term paint health. Ie..like using petroleum based tire dressing.

The fact is, most waxes and sealants contain silicone in some form, most of the time in some form of siloxane.

Bottom line, it will not harm your paint in any way.

Carpro a very respected car products brand almost exclusively contain silicons in their products.

It will not harm the paint but it does make a bit of a bugger if the paint needs touching up (fish eyes possible).
