Maybe it’s not a wax/paint chemistry issue but rather they would prefer 90 days for defects to appear (it happens) and not deal with wax issues when doing the rework.

New car from the assembly line = right away is fine.
Refinish = follow the paint manufacturer and/or shop's recommendation, but usually minimum 30 days. There is a reason why fresh paint products exist.
