I think this is an aftermarket system, since I have a separate bill for the install. No toggle switches on dash though.

When I close the door the alarm goes off now - since battery replacement. I've disconnected the horn for now - but all of the usual tricks of turns the door locks, key FOB unlocking/locking and turn ignition on 3 times = BIG FAIL.

Next step is to remove the fuse. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

After more investigation, it appears to be a factory installed alarm. None of the manual suggestions for resetting alarm are working.

I'm starting to look like an idiot ... must be tired.

Looks like it is aftermarket, as I found a spare set of keys with a non-Toyota remote that deactivated alarm. It's a Prime Alarm System, but I haven't found info on it.

If it's aftermarket there should be an alarm module under the dash, probably on the driver's side, probably held in place with plastic wire ties. You should be able to locate it by listening, if it is false alarming the on-board relays for the parking lights and siren will be clicking. You will be able to feel the relays clicking when you touch the alarm module too, and it may very well have the name brand of the alarm on the module. You should be able to unplug and remove the alarm from the van.

Is this a "REMOTE STARTING SYSTEM" or just an after market Anti-Theft/Alarm system?

Lots of good ideas. Try unplugging the battery overnight. Maybe it will recycle itself and wont be an issue. If not I would check the alarm's manual.
