So had the chance last weekend to remove the side skirts on the Celica and was relieved to see them in decent condition with no need for welding. Question is what do I do now to preserve them? I wiped them down and got the mud out of the plastic trim covers but not sure if I should just leave as is or apply some sort of paint or wax coating to them?
Will get a video up later on to show how they are

There's a few Youtube videos on the topic. I prefer an oil type rust proofing product that creeps into every crevice and doesn't create a rubbery coating that can crack and allow moisture/salt to get underneath. You can research these products here on BITOG. I would be extra careful to get some oil type product into the interior of the rocker panels. In the U.S., the rust starts from the inside and works out.

here is a video iv uploaded of one side, other side is in similar condition.

wax coating the way to go then? same stuff like cavity wax? will noxudol 700 work fine?

At minute 00:08 there appears to be paint bubbling at the very front of the rocker panel. This might be rust that has already started on the inside, perforated the metal, and is bubbling the paint up.

If true, I would want to either use a good oil spray inside the rocker (Trav's suggestion is awesome) or maybe first consider shooting a rust converter inside the rocker, followed by the oil spray.

Yes the bits that have the bubbling paint I will go over with a wire wheel and strip disc to bare metal then paint it before applying wax coat
