2008 Honda Accord 4 cylinder. 48,000 miles. Been running Pennzoil Platinum 5w20 and PureOne. Thinking of switching to 0W20. Want to buy locally so my 0W20 choices are: Honda Synthetic Blend, Honda Full Synthetic, Mobil 1, and Castrol Syntec. Plan on changing out based on Maintenance minder which has been about 6,000 miles. Should I stay with Pennzoil Platinum 5w20 or should I go with 0W20, and if so, which one? Thanks.

IMHO it' doesn't really matter (difference not obvious to me). Honda Accord 4cyls are easy on oil so no need to fuss over that little bit of difference (between 0W20/ 5W20). Just go with the flow and before you know it, your car body/suspension gonna rot before your engine falls apart due to lubrication.

Q.

The answer is "yes". Whatever you do you'll be fine. If the recommended weight is 5w20, I'd stick with that. Not much benefit to going to a 0 weight, especially because your choices are more limited.

Either or neither.

Either one will be a fine choice, but to get your value you should greatly extend your OCI.

Neither; they are both a total waste of money at 6k miles. Get a quality conventional oil and save a lot of money, and get the same great wear protection.

Thanks guys. So there is no real benefit for 0W20 for cold weather starts in central New York?
