A while back there was the big run on toilet paper etc....Over the last few months when I have searched for replacement/new installation industrial electronic/instrument/electrical parts and fixtures, Nada. It seems that everything and I mean everything is out of stock or on backorder. Apparently new vehicles or the lack thereof have driven prices to the stratosphere on used car prices. Hoping things normalize soon and the stock comes back and prices normalize.

Many replacement parts are on back order for many different industries. I guess many things are being repaired instead of being replaced. I can't see that changing for the next 12 months or so.

BiL works aerospace manufacturing … commercial engine components started to dry up - but along came orders for things that end all flights with a big bang …

I live near Quantico Marine Corps base and they have no shortage of things to blow up, based on the continual explosions and booms coming from there.

I use to have a Gunsmith down in Jacksonville until he retired in 2017. I just have a thing for MOS-2112 Marine Corps Armorers.

My brother drove 700 miles to an appliance store on the Canadian border to buy a specific refrigerator. They wouldn't ship and he paid full retail. He was happy to get it.

Just wondering what was so special about that refrigerator to drive 700 miles and buy it ?

Remember lots of those components are not made in the

It was some intermediate size that fit the spot in his rental I believe. He utilized the trip to do some visiting along the way. I would have chopped ten bucks off the rent and put my beer fridge in the garage for the new renters, but that's just me.

Yeah, ran into that problem earlier too, but it was a stove. All the cheap stoves were sold out typically in the $400-$500 range, had to go up and the next one that was actually in stock and could be delivered was about $700. Same with dishwashers, no cheap $250-$300 dishwashers, had to go up to $400+.

Can't find dumbbells for lifting weights either. They sell out pretty quick. I think people are just buying them to resell on Craigslist/Facebook marketplace. I think once the pandemic is over, some people are going to be stuck with a bunch of weights that they can't sell.

I sold a Nautilus weight set I bought at Costco back in 2001. Paid $520 US for it and sold it for $1000 Canadian. Had three calls in less than 10 minutes after I posted it. The pics I snapped had a pic of a dumbell rack with weights from 3 lbs to 50 lbs and they all inquired about that.

Any other year I'd be lucky to get $200 for the Nautilus set.

meadow,I know what you are saying about electrical panels, I work for Square D and we are working 7 days a week making electrical panel and cannot keep up with demand. Small breakers that are used in these panels are even worse.

I just bought a new refrigerator on sale from Costco. 1.5 week delivery, install and haul away included.

Bought a small freezer at Walmart. In stock item.

Bought 2 new ductless mini split systems on sale. Delivery was about two weeks.

Bought all the wiring, breakers, disconnects, tools, R410 etc online. Most arrived before the scheduled date and the pricing was good.

I have found it more difficult to find lumber in the local stores though.
