Shop fan or ceiling fan for garage

Is that satire? Do you have any humidity near you?
Of course i have humidity.
Sometimes 70 to 100 % humidity.
No AC in my home, had temps as high as 40C with humidity a few years back.
But our normal summer days, can be 25C to 30ish , plus high humidity.
Three fans blowing on high, absolutely useless. Blowing around warm air.

He’s in Corpus Christi - he’s not going to get the dry heat referred to in the article.

The article is not about the temperature, it’s about the combination of very high temperature and very low relative humidity that can increase heat stress.
Its also about how useless fans are above a certain temperature....99F.
Dry heat , humid...too hot and fans can be useless. Just blasting around warm/hot air.

You should probably go back and read the article. Fans provide benefit at all temperatures as long as the humidity is high.

I try to get all my car repairs done during the fall and winter or early mornings but I run a lasko 20" box fan and just sweat it out.

I have worked in South Houston in a fab shop in July more times than I can count and I can guarantee you everyone is jealous of who is in front of the fan grinding or cleaning.

Whatever works for them.
I too worked in a auto glass shop , garage doors wide open, a big box fan on the highest setting, i worked 3 feet away from it, temp was at least 28C,high humidity probably made it feel like 35C....did nothing for me and coworkers.

Only time i enjoyed it was to go the washroom, splash cold water on my face and arms, go stand in front of the box fan. All of 4 seconds. Then back to blast of warm air.

Nah. I know hot warm blast of fan air does not cool me off.
But you do you.😉
You posted an article. I read it.

You then misrepresented the conclusions in the article.

Why bother posting it and then disagreeing with it?

But, you do you.

I use a 20 inch floor fan in my garage which is roughly 18x18 and on high it moves a lot of air and its way better than a ceiling fan at moving air over you.
it actually moves so much air I usually run it on low .
I think a 48 or 52 may be to big ??
I have two larger fans - but use a 20” floor fan most often …
Today I was sitting on a dove bucket with the fan 4’ away rebuilding a yard work wagon …
