Shocks for an explorer

For the rear, the Monroe Load-Assist shocks will probably get you the inch or two of lift you are looking for.

One thing to be careful about, they can be NOISY. They have two sources of noise.

One, the spring rubs against the rubber boot around the shock body, so you get squeaks. Silicone brake lube can "fix" that, but you'll have to reapply occasionally.

The second source of noise only happens if the suspension can extend the shock more than the assist spring. (This is the case on my Honda Pilot rear). Then you get a klunk-klunk noise over dips as the spring disengages and re-engages the top mount. If the spring is long enough and/or the suspension can't extend far enough, then you're lucky and won't get this noise.

I'm not lucky.
