Shipping Engine Oil

Their position is, if it gets damaged in transit it wasn't packaged properly.
We ship 62# packages routinely and use boxes rated for 75#. The few times there's been damage, they claim "inadequate packaging", we dispute it with proof of the box's rating, but they still don't care.

That spout is inside the box during shipping. You have to open a little flap on the box and pull it out.

I agree though that he should not do it.

I have Redline and Motul oils shipped to me all the time. But they are packaged in larger boxes, and protected from damage with an additional layer of protection between the bottles and outer box.

UPS hasn't damaged one yet. They are also marked appropriately so the package handlers know it is oil.

I wouldn't expect the oil box in the OP to arrive unscathed, if shipped as shown.

shippers can be brutal!! instead of setting a FRAGILE delivery on my porch i can hear the delivery dropped!! lately i got an $1800 mattress that "required" signing for but FED EX just did a hit + run as i waited one floor down front door open with a sign on it i am here!!! its the careless workers in a hurry that dont care!!!!

I mail order jugs of oil all the time. Sometimes boxes when I find a deal. The boxes usually have their "windows" and spouts tucked/boxed inside and you have to physically remove them, so shipping them usually isn't a problem.

In terms of how shippers pack these items changes all the time. I just received three 5qt jugs of Supertech from Wally. They came packed loose in a plastic shipping bag, with each jug tied off in it's own clear bag. That's the first time I've gotten an order like that. The jugs are usually in a box and the oil caps are usually taped.
