Let me get this right your a 16 year old teenager and casually walking down the street with your new assault knife. No you wouldn't attract any attention with this knife in your hand.

infinitely practical. why, i was just peeling some grapes with one of those little numbers. used the other side for my toenails.

folds right up and can be used as a money clip.

it looks like a prop from a mad max movie (or something post-apocalyptic).

Each locality, state, and country will pass laws that reflect it's concern. At one time pocket knives were commonly carried by kids, I use to carry an Old Timer large stockman in grade school, and a Swiss Army knife in jr high on, but such items will get one explelled now days. At one time one could carry firearms aboard aircraft, but the hijackings that started in the early 70s ended that, and the box cutters that were used to hijack the aircraft for 9/11 ended the ability to carry pocket knives aboard aircraft. I had to surrender my P38 can opener the last time that I flew.

At one time one could purchase Thompson submachine guns mail order, no questions asked. It arrived in a canvas case with two magazines. But the gang activity in the 30s, combined with an attempt on the President's life, resulted in the National Firearms Act.

I really don't see a good reason to own something like that, but at the same time don't see why it should be illegal. I mean honestly it is not like these are the weapon of choice for holding up the local 7-11, and even if they were making them illegal just means only criminals have them.

Palut said it well.

Down here we've been through the "knife bans" also.

It's now illegal to carry a knife, of any sort, in public....including leatherman's.

Rhetoric from Police ministers include (and I kid you not) "If you've got a knif in your pocket, then you better have a fishing rod over your shoulder".

There was a ****fight here a few months ago, when a local apprentice was caught with a "case" of knives while on a train. He doesn't have a driver's licence, and stayed after work for a few beers.

It was determined in court that if he'd proceeded straight home after work, then he was OK, but staying back for a few beers put him in the "carrying a knife in public" class.

Speaking of carrying knives to school, I carried a yellow handled Case mini trapper to high school every single day I attented. Many times the teacher would ask if someone had a pocket knife for one reason or another and 10-15 or so boys would offer thier knife for the chore at hand. A country kid like me considered a pocket knife the same as a pair of shoes.

I believe that my generation was the the last to encounter this NON-FEAR of mundane things. I attended high school in the late 80's and we had many days during hunting season that boys brought thier rifles to school for a hunt after classes were over. This way they could change clothes and go straight to the field instead of having to go all the way back home. The only rule was that the rifles were to be stored in the principals office not in our vehicles. This caused no problems whatsoever. It didn't happen every day but a few times a year. I'm sure even then there were rules against such things but nobody cared because people were not so scared of political correctness as they are today. This was a public school with over 600 students. Could you imagine this today? My mother is a public school teacher (2 years away from retirement) and tells me that a kid can get suspended for bringing nail clippers to school these days. Get a life people. When one bad thing happens like columbine all the sheepeople freak out because the are scared of everything. Did those turds at columbine shoot the place up with a nail file? Already plenty of laws against what they did. Why do we need more silly rules just to make the sheepeople feel "safe"?

Man I loved the simple times in my little "backwards" part of America. I miss the times when common sense ruled the world and not political correctness.

I was in High School in the mid to late 90's and even then I brought all knids or knives to school and even sold many out of my locker and no one through a fit and yes my teachers knew I was a knife nut, but they also know I was a good kid with a 3.8 GPA.

Back in the early eighties when I was in High School almost every one carried a knife of some sort. we had a a lot of farmers and hunters, and it wasn't unusual to see a rifle or two in the back window of some of the students trucks. There were plenty of fights but no one ever pulled a knife they just duked it out and settled their differences. I used to carry a Buck stockman to home school and a Buck Hunter when I rotated to Vo-Tech and no one said a thing, In fact at the technical school you had to bring your own knife, they used to supply electrition knives in our tool kits in diesel mechanics but they kept dissapearing so we had to supply our own. It's not like it used to be
Now I carry a Craftsmen stockman which I keep pretty sharp and a Spyderco Delica for abuse cutting.

I currently carry an old Boker large stockman that I found in an antique store for $10. It's slim, and the carbon steel blades hold up better than the Schrades that I use to carry. I also like to have a Swiss Army knife with a corkscrew and a Leatherman handy.

I remember when real bad guys in schools would have a switchblade, and heard of some guys with zip guns.

I hope the prospective owner wasn't planning to pick his nose with that thing. Can you say "do it yourself brain surgery?"

Seriously, though, what are you really going to do with something like that? Gimme a break. It's not like it could be easily concealed.

It's all about the Fantasy aspect for that knife. It's steel (420j2) in not a using steel and it was probibly not even heat treated. It is purly a wall hanger.
