And speaking in her very own Thailish!!

Some thoughts on what happening. All my own. None of this official.

Patrolling Is necessary to patrol on foot. More than necessary essential. To drive though areas in armored vehicles and call this patrol is meaningless. To fly helicopter over rooftop and call patrol even worse. Only foot patrols are effective. This way can talk to people sense what happens what situation is.

Ambushes Opposition in Iraq has no staying power. Will not hold and fight. So if tactic when ambushed is to drive clear then return for counter attack this is very bad. Bad guys will fire at vehicles but by time attack is mounted they fade away. So if ambushed must immediately counter attack ambush then do rat hunt through streets. We were ambushed three four times. Each time this happen we strike back at once. For all fury of ambush bad guys are very very bad shots. If you take the fight to them they are at bad disadvantage. If you not let them go not let them fade away but keep chasing until they are dead or captured this terrify them. We not have one person wounded or killed in these. In the end bad guys keep away from us for we are fierce and they know to start fight mean they must fight to finish.

Overwatch Is also essential to have overwatch at all times. Moving unit must be covered at all times. Snipers very good for this. Our new SSG-3000 work very well. .338 Lapua is good round. Often attack is stopped before it start when overwatch unit spot bad guys and start to drop them.

Duration First three or four seconds of firefight are most dangerous. After that Iraqi fall apart and danger drop very quickly. Cheerful thought. Iraqi hate being shot by woman. This make women fighting in Iraq very effective.

Information From local people mostly unreliable can be trusted not often. Mostly is working off old scores by trying to make trouble for others. Or is just lies made up to impress us with importance or person talking. Also have no idea of difference between truth and rumor. Between fact and opinion. They here rumor that this person has hidden arms one who tell us this will say has seen for self. Also rumor spread far and fast. When we hear this may be for different town or different province. Please to note all rumors are believed by people without thought. Does not matter how foolish such rumors. Why this is do not know but is so. If rumor start everybody believe without thinking. (my take on this is that this is from their lack of development due to living under a dictatorship-Eric)

Ba'ath Party Still there still dangerous. Mostly underground but still there at local level. Rooting these out is top priority.

Here is a SITREP from a Marine in Ramadi. The email gives you a good idea about morale and an idea what the Marines went through there.

Gentlemen,
Dispatches from the front. This SITREP was composed by my brother (Lt. Col. Bruce Kelly, USMC, Ret). Info obtained from his son, PFC Nick Kelly, USMC, 0331, Wpns. Co. 2/4. Will pass other pertinent details as they become available. Pass to alcon as you see fit.
Semper Fi,
Keith

Kampfbundt,
OK, I'm up out of my hole---at least for now. Nick called last night. His
MAP-3 (Mobile Assault Platoon {replaced the 1980's-90's CAAT that was
designed for armor threat vice threat they are facing now}) was brought back
for a few hours to refuel/rearm/eat chow and he got a few minutes.
What you won't hear on audio-bites "...parts of Falluja/Ramadi still under
enemy control..." or from those fat phoney ****s Kennedy and Kerry et.al. is
this: "Dad, we are kicking the living @#%$ out of those motherfuckers."
It seems that the group that got ambushed were elements of 'G' 2/4. The rags
set up diversional ambush sites elsewhere in Ramadi to draw attention and
devoted their main effort on the Golf''s routine foot patrol. Nick has been
told that the Ramadi front is designed to take heat off Falluja (2/1 and
1/5...1st recon is there as well). MAP 3 was called to provide relief to
'G.' Nick says that as they moved up, the rags were performing disciplined,
as he calls it, "bounding fire and movement---they knew what they were
doing---even when we knocked them back, they were 'bounding' "
When I asked if he had cranked-off any rounds he replied with disgust,
"Uhhh...yeahhhhh" (a version of 'no duh')...Dad our platoon alone has killed
over 200 of those (again) motherfuckers."
Relates that he got 4 in a taxi cab delivering ammo, several in door-ways,
as well as several who were actually in friggin trees.
Heroism: One of Nick's Sgts got an AK round through shoulder and disobeyed
LT's order for MEDEVAC. Remained with MAP for 4 hours and used an M-203 to
continue fight.
Humor: Wounded rag runs in building. Marines pursue, apprehend. Rag is
shrieking hysterically. "A big black Cpl puts barrel in rag;'s chest while
screaming, 'Shut-the-@#%$-up!' " Rag grabs weapon. Cpl levels him with a
straight right hand to the face. Another Marine pounds rag over the head
with a 5-pound bag of flower that breaks, thus creating a Three
Stoogesque-scene when white-face rag is led out of house.
USMC Lore: As MAP was entering Ramadi on Wed minaret loudspeakers were
pronouncing, "This is the day you die, come forward and we will kill you in
name of Jihad, bla, bla." Wpns Company Commander grabs interpreter, puts him
on OUR loudspeaker and begins, "Come out and fight you @#%$ pussys and
fight us in the streets like @#%$ men!" Nick relates that some did and,
"We mowed them down."
There was much, much more but you get the drift. Nick was was very tired but
pumped. He spoke in a very matter-of-fact tone like the old WWII guys
talking about the Tenaru River Banzai at G-canal...no angst or 'what have I
done' nonsense. They have been so frustrated and angry losing friends to
IEDs and other sneaky @#%$ that I believe they do not consider the foe as
human...and they're not. Nick says he was buddies with many KIA of Tues. A
boot camp buddy from Illinois (PFC Morris) was KIA RPG last Sat.
Sun they went in to escort food hand-out amidst screaming and rock throwing.
PAO Capt was along for ride and expressed aloud that this food stuff was a
swell idea. On the way out, the rags blew an IED and KOed the 'skipper's'
vehicle. Two WIA including our young reporter...numerous shrapnel wounds to
face and "blood all over the place," according to Nick. I guess 'skipper'
has adjusted his stance.
Well, those "devils in yellow leggings" seem to be making an impression.
Nick asserts that the rags are figuring out that there is a new sheriff in
town and they are becoming more cowed. States that they are "blowing the
@#%$ out of everything." Of course, he knows that the cellar is still full
of rats and every day you enter the cellar they will try and bite
you...especially those that came to Iraq to die.
I know that he is fine because he signed-off with, "Semper Fi Dad, I love
you."
Kelly, out
PS for Col Morris; Please let your network know of this SITREP. You and the
other 2/4 Vietvets can be assured that your banner is unfurled and snapping.

Great reports! Unfiltered by the pathetic media.

Send bigtime thanks to both of these people for me. Tell them to ignore the usual blowhards and backstabbers and keep pouring it on.

Nobody with a backbone is going to lose to these diaperheads.

That is so awesome. Totally (again) proves my point about our press.

Thank her and the Kelly family profusely.

We are behind our troops, the press and the Kerry camp cannot convince us to run away!

Thanks for the reports. Reading Suphi's, I thought about what I once heard about my favorite dog; the Airedale, they don't start fights, they just finish them.

This is some of the best information that I have seen to come out of Iraq. Leave it to a woman to tell the real story.

I like her idea of patrols on foot. Heck, in our own country it would be good for the police to at least occasionally get out of their patrol cars. By patrolling on foot you have more direct contact with the people and look like human beings. And many of what the enemy considers high value targets (tanks, fuel trucks, personnel carriers) are eliminated.

They should have this woman tell her story to the big wheel generals in Iraq.

See??? That's WHAT I'm talking about. Media don't cover stuff like this because it might "OFFEND" some folks. Screw that. I work at Fort Sill and the stories we are hearing are similar to the one above. It's just that they keep coming out of the woodwork and you can't tell who is enemy or who is foe. Of course if you shoot the wrong people, and even though they were helping the enemy out by bringing ammo or military equipment, the media jumps all over you and you will more than likely be court marshalled.
