Is it just me or is the TBN a bit on the low side? Otherwise the oil looks good to me.

TBN isn't as critical since today's engines come up to temp faster and US unleaded gasoline is all now Ultra-low-Sulphur

Thanks. I remember when it was the Holy Grail to some, which is why I asked.

I'd add control of temps … I now have shutters in the grill to warm an oversized radiator, an oil cooler, and piston cooling jets … my 2010 had none of this …

I just stated the "after effect".... you added more detail to the "why" portion.

Shutters in the grille are a surprise - - the other items listed are not.

Low sales? Shell has been the sales leader for 12 consecutive years.

All depends on where you work.

In the city fleet, we get zero input. Purchase department awards contracts to various suppliers. We get to install whatever the OEM spec is. Local dealership which handles warranty work says that they will stand behind us if we follow owners manual recommendation. When Ford issued the TSB is use 5W-20, that was followed. Now, just about every car in the fleet is 5W-20. We get exactly the same drum of oil, with different invoices from different distributors, and the supply contracts actually pay to a 3rd party who won the bid.

Well, it really should be YES and you need to buy this motor oil.

Q: Do you tow or haul?
A: Yes you do...stop fooling yourself.
Q: Do you operated in extreme temps?
A: Yes you do...stop trying to think and just buy it.

Seems a good oil.

I mean, I kind of consider all of these Wally World oils to be pretty much the same, and that's a good thing, but the Gas Truck oil does look pretty [censored] good. Like the extra moly...why, I don't know...guess I've just been conditioned to think moly=good.

I just did my oil change using the Gas Truck 0w20 (2018 Silverado). So far it feels...well like every other oil I've ever used. Surprise!

Of course, there still is non-dexos1 Formula Shell for those who don't like the dexos1 regime. Shell offers the whole gamut for almost any fleet use now, not to mention a very significant portion of the general motoring public. RGT, being dexos1 certified, is perfectly suitable for any car, be it a Cruze or a Camaro or a Vette, calling for a dexos1 oil.

Formula Shell Conventional is what I am using. At 2.50$ or so a quart, you're essentially getting PYB with a slightly lower TBN and Moly.
And after looking over 5.7 Hemi UOAs, it should be able to go 6-7k.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with Formula Shell, either. Our NAPA locations have it on a really good sale every once in a while. That was the last fill in my god daughter's Monte before she traded up.
