Shell Rotella Gas Truck oil

It was basically QuakerState FS in a red jug.
I still have some RGT from the AZ closeout and I thought the same thing that you wrote but now I wonder. Yesterday I came across Lake Speed Jr. YT video called ‘The Hidden history of Mobil 1’ where he compares different varieties of Mobil 1. I was surprised that Mobil 1 Truck and SUV was stouter (higher oxidation resistance) than regular Mobil 1 in the same viscosity grade). This got me wondering if SOPUS did the same with RGT since it was also aimed at trucks and SUVs. What are your thoughts on this possibility?

That is what I would expect, in the end a truck, compared to a passenger vehicle, a heavier vehicle that can carry/tow heavy weights, meaning higher rpm for longer duration, which means higher temp

Shell Rotella Gas Truck 5w30 and other grades is a great oil for gas trucks and heavy duty use in cars, IMO. I hope that Shell hasn't discontinued it, but they might have. Any thoughts about this?

It's still available from Walmart online.

I bought 8 jugs during AutoZone clearance sale.

I just did an oil change and Mazda runs great with Shell oil.

This oil has almost no smell.

I loaded up on the RGT 5W30/0W20 and 5W20 with Advance Autos sale years back. Ten bucks for a 5 quart jug and 2 bucks for a quart. I have used that oil in multiple vehicles over the years with good results. Just used my last quart of 5W20 today.

Indeed - loaded up on this Shell oil and used it up in my Jeep - however the first 3 changes were that Mobil 1 Truck and SUV mentioned in the thread. The 23 jugs of Mobil 1 Annual Protection (majority PAO) were used in the older Tahoe and the Lexus. Also grabbed a good stash of the Valvoline Modern Engine used mainly in the Lexus and gave plenty to family members …
I’d like to thank AZ for huge savings and clean engines …

I have at least 20 gallons of this oil in 0w20. I purchased during the blowout. Never used it. I got a ton of idemitsu which I did use in my tundra and rav4.

Im tempted to use it in my 2024 tacoma, but oil is cheap enough and ive been buying mobil1 ep.

I dont do the oil in the rav4 anymore, and never in my sons mazda 3 sedan. All take 0w20, its a waste it sits
