shell oil products

I've done some research and know all are good but could you guys list in order how these synthetic oils rank. I'm not sure how to tell the difference between the add packs.

Pennzoil ultra
Formula shell synthetic

What do you mean by "Rank"?

Let us know.....are you interested in which of the above oils are the most popular, less expensive, highest TBN, or the best bang for the buck?

IMO...they all have great add packs for the price.

Out of the 4 I listed I just wanted to know in the most extreme conditions which would leave you engine the clean and less wear over 200k with.say 5k oci intervals.

IMO they are all very good oils and your engine wont know the difference.Pick one on sale and go with it.At 5000 mile changes you can use any name brand and be OK,just always change the filter.

If I were to do 5K oil changes and wanted a quality SOPUS product I would not go the synthetic route. Instead, I would personally pick the Pennzoil conventional oil.

Great add pack, Top quality Oil and great for tough service with 5K mile OCI's. With a vehicle with over 200K on the odometer, I would not waste my $$ on a synthetic for 5K OCI's. But that is just my opinion.

If you will be towing, pushing or pulling then you have other options as well....Shell Rotella in Dino would be a great oil to pick and just add a couple of quarts of synthetic to the mix.

On paper the choice would be Pennzoil Ultra. Honestly, I think with 5k intervals, all of them would leave your engine clean.

For a 5K change, take your pick as they are all up to the task. I personally use the Platinum in my two Elements.

You would never see a difference between the lot during the life of your vehicle. Maybe if you run your engine with a constant load of over 80% you may see an advantage of running a HDEO oil.
