Wondered why I never see this oil in any store. Below is answer from distributor.

Shell does not offer the Helix Product in the US anymore since they bought the Pennzoil and Quaker State Brands and the reason why is because Shell offers the same Helix Formulation in either Pennzoil or QS Products!!! They really take the Helix Product and repackage it in either Pennzoil or QS.. The 2 products are Pennzoil Platinum Synthetic European 5/30-5/40 or Quaker State Synthetic Euro 5/30-5/40... I think their reasoning is that more people are familiar with a Pennzoil or QS name than the Shell Helix name!!

Let me know if you need further!!

Thanks,

He is correct, both are repackaged Helix Ultra products and he is correct to the reason they did it. However, you can purchase the Helix Ultra in 55 gallon drums from Shell, or if you want to pay a ridiculous price, you can get it in liter bottles from your local Ferrari dealer.

Nope. It's called Quaker State European Formula. It comes in 5W30 and 5W40. The Pennzoil product is called Pennzoil Platinum European Formula and comes in the same weights.

interesting. i don't think i've seen that around. do you know if it makes it's way up to canada? last time i checked, canadian tire carries PP and the 2 flavors of Quaker State Synthetic: Q-Horse and Q-Torque. never noticed the Euro formula. maybe i just missed it, who knows...

Not I. There is a distributor in Green Bay that sells it as I'm sure others do, and there is a distributor that sells it online that is located in PA but due to board rules I cannot post that website.

Next time I'm at my local Ferrari dealer, I'll keep an eye out for it.

The only place I have seen the Pennzoil European 5w-40 forumula is online. Search Google or Yahoo and you will find it.
