Shell Nitrogen-enriched Fuel???

I think it is just a marketing gimmick. All they are really saying is "our gas has a detergent which has nitrogen in it". The words 'Nitrogen Enriched' just sounds like it does something good to the layman. It doesn't matter if it uses nitrogen or some other element in its detergent as long as it does the job. Does it clean better than other detergents for gasoline? Maybe, but that's not something you're going to find out using 1 tankful. That's something that could only be determined over many thousands of miles.

Its marketing junk. As more and more grocery stores, Walmarts, and wharehouse clubs now sell gas at discounted prices the traditional gas stations have to find a way to keep consumers comming to them. The only difference between gas at Sam's Club and gas at Shell is the add pack. Most folks could care less about that. Convience of buying gas where you shop and lower prices wins for most of us.

If you ever have a chance to calculate your gas cost per mile, please let us know. When I've tried ARCO gas, I got noticeably worse gas mileage, so no money savings. All the other brands including supermarket gas get about the same mileage.

Fixed that for ya. The only definitive difference is advertising. Gas is like a box of chocolates. Any quality differences may vary from day to day and station to station.
