Shell Ethanol sample - please advise

OP...why are you concerned about e content so that you are testing? Just curious.

Because until recently, that Shell station advertised zero ethanol in their 91 gas, so I've been paying an extra 15-ish cents per liter understanding there was zero Ethanol. I did test it last year and there was zero Ethanol. I have a grass cutting biz and only used 91 in my equipment and 2008 Kia Sorento 3.8L v6.

Ok got it. Thx.

If this is the case lucky for you !
I believe in 2022 the Canadian government mandated all fuels to be blended with ethanol ?

Where can those sample bottles be obtained ?
Rev-X seems to be a fairly popular one. It’s been awhile since I’ve used mine, but TiGeo’s is pretty well delineated as well.

Really only people with E-XX tunes need to truly worry about ethanol content. A little (0-10%) may cost you just a couple tenths of MPG, but ethanol adds some beneficial characteristics of being able to dissolve some of the gums and varnishes that can form inside the injector nozzle & prevent the pintel from sealing well or making a poor spray pattern.

I appears you didnt fill it enough with gas. it has to be to the top or aprox 15% higher than the 85% line otherwise it could never read e85.

This is Getgo 92 octane top tier. 7/15/25 from 5th street location 44203
pic is at bad angle its aprox 8-9% ethanol

For accuracy its VERY important the water line is filled precisely as well as the gas to the proper amount (which appears to be considerably higher than what you filled it to)
