Sharpie Retractible Tip Markers

All my life people have told me to put the cap back on the marker or the tip will dry out. Sharpie being the world's No.1 black marker maker - has come out with a retractible tip version of their famous replaceable cap version. Now, I'm not so sure I'm willing to take the plunge and move up to the convenience of a retractible tip; at least not until consulting the highly valued opinions of my oil buddies first. So what ye say'eth y'all ? Is it safe to use these new retractible tip Sharpies without worrying about the tips drying out ?

Where have ya been Merk, those things have been around for quite some time, lol. To answer your question, I have one in my toolbox that's over 10 years old and will still write to this day. Good product.

Merk, you need to check out a Namiki or Pilot vanishing point fountain pen; you'll be blown away.

They work. I think they made it to continue to use their smelly ink formula and still comply with California's low VOC emissions.

For marking things too tough for a Sharpie, try
a Sakura slim solid marker.

It's much softer than a grease pencil to write with, but still dries in a few minutes to a hard coating.

I use one everyday at work. The felt tip wears down to a nub before the ink ever runs out or dries up. I highly recommend them. I also like the metallic silver sharpies for marking drivelines before dropping them.

Merk will throw them out as soon as the colour changes anyhow.
