Where is the oil filter located on these, I am going to do an oil cahnge for a friend, and with a quick look from above I couldn't see it sticking out anywhere. Thanks

The oil filter is right next to the plug you can't miss it. No need to go through the wheel well.

Find the equivalent of the pf-52 if you want some more capacity. You will have to get the car up in the air to get to it without taking off the wheel. Try some ramps. I couldn't do it with just a jack and stands.

I just realised he didn't post the model. If it's a Lesabre the oil filter sticks down under the car, you do not want to use a longer filter. You do not have to remove the wheel on any 99 Buick. Centurys and Regals can be removed be reaching over or through the A-arm.

I had the exact same job a couple of weeks ago. Could have had the oil changed in a few minutes (oil filter isn't that difficult normally), but, my wife had her oil changed at some quick lube place before. I like to never got that filter off. Finally had to drill 3 different holes, sticking a screwdriver through the filter for leverage, to get it loose enough to take off. My oil filter wrench was no match; the filter was put on for life. The oil plug was the same way and it seems they rounded the edges on the plug.

Don't ya just love it!!!!!!

Thanks guys. This was on a LeSabre, and it was one of the easiest oil changes I have ever done. The oil filter was a joy to get to, someone with a brain must have been involved with its location. I am surprised there isn't some kind of shroud to protect the filter from potential scrapes and collisions with road debris. Like I said, extremely easy job.

Agreed. That's the only reason I don't run the oversize filter on this application.
