Septic System cleaning

Keep cleaning products (bleach), grey water, and "foreign" material out of it. Keep it to :poop::poop::poop: and pee and not overdone with paper and she'll keep on performing. Grey water (washing machine/water softner) does a lot of damage slowly over time. Can clog your perforated pipe with clothing fibers. Vines or other vegetation can fill a whole line of pipe quickly once it gets established. Often begins at the junction box. I check my junction box every few years. Mine has 4 rows of 90 feet.

Never put paint, excess bleach water, grease, drugs, paper towels, napkins or coffee grounds down the drain. Have the septic pumped every two years, three years at the most. Once or twice a year I put Roebic Septic activator in the tank. I have followed the above for 25 years and my system is clean and working well.

Never put any type of baby wipes down the john. Charmin bathroom tissue is another no no. Quilted Northern or Cottonelle dissolve much better.
