I would but Consumer Reports seem flawed. No humans can be unbiased.

Not when a test will result in people drawing wrong conclusions. See the oil filter thread.

So how would you suggest people draw their conclusions?

Do their own unprofessional tests and spend lots of time and money?

One such way would be for CR to test to failure.

I would have no problem with that but not sure exactly what you mean by failure. I would assume failure would mean a totally plugged filter? Or do you mean something else? Would that happen in real life use?

I was thinking more like how well the different filters catch the smallest particles that are said to be the most destructive.
These being I believe 5-20 microns.

I would like to see multiple filters used in a test chamber where air flow is in the same ranges for all the tests and the same amount of particulate matter is added. This particulate matter would be in different size ranges and would be added to the airflow.
