Yeah I don’t have any mini-splits yet, was thinking how a full furnace/AC in the attic would work. My condensate pump is below the house floor level but above a concrete pad with a drain, so if it takes a there’s no big deal for me.
An attic air handler would sit in a pan the condensate pump would be plumbed through the soffit or however the installer feels is best to get it out of the building. The pan is also plumbed out as well and there’s a water/moisture switch that sits in the pan & shuts down the system if the pan gets water in it from a malfunctioning condensate pump.

Don't they install the pan and unit a bit higher then attic floor level so you have a non-pump gravity pipe drop 1/4 to inch drop per foot to the outside? If it was not code, I would write that into the contract for the installers to elevate the install pad. Gravity always works, up until the 10 mile meteor hits, or the house burns down.
