Selling my car situation

Im currently selling my car atm, and I been baby and take the car best I can, time to sell it for something bigger, the peoples that came to me, they kinda made me depression. I dint been in these selling car situation, if u been in these situation, tell me how to deal with it

First of all, im kinda in hurry selling my car, cause there a truck I really want, but first I need sell this one first, before I can buy that truck. so im in a rush atm, but here is few thing peoples make me feel depression.

I know how much my car worth, and peoples alway offer WAY lower, i mean to the point where they make my car feel like it worth nothing.

peoples want test drive, and they want to rev the [censored] out off my car. I tell them stop and they walk away

they say many thing need replace, event I already replace most of it. they try low ball me to the point, i get really mad inside

peoples thinking Im really depress need moneys and they offer really low, im need moneys, but its need that bad, its not like im need to sell this to pay bill, im just need to sell this so I can buy something bigger for entertainment

over all, these peoples just want make me feel really bad, by saying this car need this need that, and they offer really low, like im asking 4000 and they offer 2000, 2500.

im also want to sell the car to some one that I feel will take care the car like I do, its ok to just leave the for sale sign until I find the right person, event it take more then 2 week ? or month ?

its 97 camaro z28 6 speed very well takent care. TBH I never look at fuel miles when it come to my rides

That car's sharp. What's the economy like in Jackson? Is there a city 60 miles away where someone would be more likely to buy it?

Don't let the "you need this replaced" people get to you. There's a thread on here about someone with 1500 miles on his oil and some prospective buyer wanted $400 off because "it was inky".

Hold out. Used cars hold their value well. A Camaro is part toy but just practical enough for someone to use as a daily driver. It will be harder to sell than a Corolla.

I guest so, economy is here ok, gas price been drop lately, like i use to fill up premium 3.97 but now its 3.60 something. and its hard to sell since it 6 speed manual, most dont know how to ride manual.

Go on Edmunds.com and find the TMV (True Market Value) of your vehicle. That vehicle might even be worth more than you are asking for it. When you get low balled, show them the TMV report and tell them to get off your property. If you are in such a rush to get your different ride, why not just trade this vehicle in? You might get $500 less than doing it through a private sale - then again, you might get more. Just depends on how desperate the dealer is, and how tough you play the situation with them.

3 year ago I sold the same one to a friend for 4500, he still drive it around now. he havent replace anything, accept his tires. But I guest economy is tough atm and peoples concern about gas price, it hard to sale atm.

but wally I will try your ideal and print out the TMV of my car, show them in case they try talk me down. I dont like deal with dealer, since they alway try low the price, and I dont want own moneys to dealer.

I just get off the phone with some older guy, I think he around 35+. He a big fan of camaro, and having 2 camaro atm, he asking me few question, how long I have the car, and how much I want for it. and tell him about the car, and how much I want. after we talk, we start talk about his camaro, cool guy, he is coming tomorrow checking out the car. I properly not let him drive, but im taking him for a ride. ATM im not have feeling he will buy it or pay the price I want, but let see what up tomorrow. Im more confident since he properly know alot about these camaro and what to expect, and I dont have explaint him any thing.

I'd be patient. Id also offer test drives to feel the car's power, but no ridiculous revving or breaking the laws. Since it is still your car, Id go on the ride with the driver.

Receipts help sell a car - hope you have them and the records...

Let him drive it. It is unreasonable to expect to sell the car without letting a prospective buyer drive it. Just ride with him, and make sure before hand that you tell him not to beat the [censored] out of it during the test drive.

Be sure to look up on Edmunds the TMV of your car. Use it to your advantage if he tries to bring you down below what it is worth. Don't bring it up if he is willing to pay more. Use this link, you just have to type in your zip code by the car's picture, and fill in the blanks with features, color, miles, condition, etc. My initial impression is you are asking too much for the car.

Ok, I have most receipt, I bought this car 1 year ago only july 4 2010 with 113 miles for 4500 dollar ( right now its 120k miles ). I drove 1 hours to get it. I went home and start mod it, buying all the part for it. I think i put 1200 dollar on performing part. Made good power, but I still baby it every day. some time break it loose, but 99% of time. I drive it normal and baby it. All im asking is 4k I seen few around here selling worth condition and they asking more then im asking. I have nothing lie to the buyer, if something wrong with the car, I rather tell them, then let them find out themself, cause im bad at lieing lol.

Just note that many used car buyers feel that added aftermarket parts actually hurt the car's value.

It is sometimes unreasonable to expect to get much for them.

I've never bought a car because a "blue book" said I was getting a good deal.

The fact that you're seeing other cars *for sale* at prices like yours, means they have not sold yet.

If you want to sell within, say, a week, you're going to have to put some distress factor into your price.

People don't just want to brag about their camaro, they want to brag about the great deal they got on their camaro. Hence the lowballers. Look at it from their POV, they get a fun test drive with "free gas" and if they offend you, well hey, they'll never see you again. For all you know they might be "curbstoners" looking to flip a nice car.

To avoid all the test pilots, post in your ad that test drives require a $4000 cash deposit. Then only guys who are serious with cash in hand will show up.

One of the guys in my motorsports club was selling his 97 Impreza coupe with a full WRX STI drivetrain swap from japan, and this is what he did to avoid a flock of test pilots. He probably did limit the number of buyers as many don't know how quick the car is but he also didn't have 20 emails a day asking to see it either.

I was thinking the same, I never let any one ride my car unless im just out off a party and cant drive home. So yea if they want test drive, bring cash or I just take them for a ride down the street ^^

If you're selling a used car, you have to be willing to show it, allow interested people to take it for a test drive and expect people to make offers that are below your asking price.

Quite frankly if I were interested in a vehicle and the owner wanted a cash deposit for a test drive, or if the owner didn't allow me to make sure the car was mechanically sound, then I'd certainly find another car elsewhere.

Selling a used car takes some work, and you have to have a thick skin because people like a deal. If you're not willing or able to do what it takes to sell the car then you'd be better off keeping it for finding another means of disposing of it.
