Hi, I have approx $900 in Cabela's gift cards on hand that I would like to sell. I was originally going to use it to buy a new range toy however I have decided to hold on that purchase for the time being. How can I sell my cards online without taking too large of a hit?
I listed it on craigslist however multiple people emailed with offers of 50% of value, I have an ebay account but have read that people will reverse the paypal payment once they receive the gift card.

Any suggestions?

There are many online marketplaces where you can sell your gift cards to them and get 70% on your dollar.
I'd also be careful and take immediate payout or exchange into something you can use versus getting payment in the mail where they can screw you over(just like dealing with mail in rebates). better than dealing with humans.

As mentioned there are various sites that you can sell gift cards online and get cash. Looks like you can get 75% to 80% depending on how you take the payout. From a quick search it looks like you'd be able to get 5% to 10% more after fees depending on the selling price on ebay.

Most places do not let their cards expire. What would be the harm in keeping them for a while until you are ready?

Thank you all for the help. I ended up mentioning this to my neighbor this morning, turns out he was looking to buy a gun safe, so I did a near even exchange with him!
