Thanks for sharing! Nice family - you are blessed.

Those are pretty much my old tourist spots. I was born in Cali - strange thing, we just got home on Sunday from a 4 day visit to So Cal and also had a "rent-a-Impala" - not such a bad car in my opinion - how was yours?

It's funny that you went all the way to the USA to buy made in China tools!

I rented the car from National and I could pick any full-size car from the parking lot! The keys were just dangling from the doors. So naturally I chose the one with the lowest mileage (3600miles). The Impala was pretty awesome. Huge interior space (better than a Lexus LS430), cavernous trunk, exceptional comfort (to soak up bad LA freeways), no interior rattles whatsoever, clever automatic headlights, impressive onboard computer (low washer fluid warning, beeps when turn signal left on too long, etc), car feels so happy cruising at 90mph (some wind noise but I guess thats normal at that speed), good grippy 225/65/16 tires, superb brakes, plenty of torque for a 3.4L base engine, 26.9mpg highway (not too shabby), 18.5mpg city using 87 gas, overall excellent touring machine for the 3500+ miles we made. Im glad I didnt rent a Taurus or a Camry.

The car in the Sierra Nevada Mountains picture looks awfully familiar.

Gee, Ken, thank you. I just went on vacation too! You have a very nice family and am happy you could enjoy each other on this memorable trip.

Yeah, the Chevy Impala is a dandy family sedan.

I'm happy to see you stopped by at Mono Lake. Pretty cool, huh? Next time spend a couple days in Yosemite when you're in the area.
