Seeing more VW Micro Busses

The bus is almost dead right out of the gate. I dont know what they were thinking but then again, that thinking was in a lot of BEVs plans that never happened. The price is outrageous... it's such a crowed field of expensive offerings. VW only sold about 1/5th of what they are able to produce.
Also just shut down the plant for a few days. (just for the record I REALLY like the look but at that price, no, EV prices are insane)

And, although I think it's cute, many people don't like it. Even my boyfriend who has owned VWs his whole life, thinks it's hideous and would never get one. I mean he drives a Volt right now because it was cheap but I am pretty sure his next vehicle will be a VW again, perhaps an EV... but he hates how both the ID4 and ID Buzz look. My point is, this was never going to be a volume vehicle. I could have told you that from the day it was announced, so it's sad VW didn't agree haha.

From what I heard from VW on release was this was supposed to entice people to come into the dealer to see it, yet if they weren't actually interested in buying it that they may buy another VW product. I'm sure they'd love to sell a ton of them, but the ploy is just to get someone in the door from what I heard.

If only this new version had a gas engine, then it might actually sell. At 60k now, its rich people's transportation and does not fit the spirit of VW.

The arteon was pretty cool looking too , priced too high , failed to sell well in the states , same will happen with the bus

VW has their challenges right now. China sales (like everyone), declining margins, high debt. Their EV strategy has not done well.
Even the mighty Porsche is facing financial struggles.

The car industry as a whole is in the same boat.

VW has seemingly always made weird mistakes. When I was a sales associate we had corporate brass come in. I another sales person told them to put the Amarok into production for the USA market as I had several customers that wanted one. It would have printed money, but nope no dice. The passat went from a sporty, comfortable sedan available with fwd/awd and a manual transmission option to a watered down fwd automatic only sedan. And they wondered why sales weren't great. This was after many manufacturers were adding awd to their lineup.
 
The Amarok is a nice little truck, a true body on frame from VW with the engine put in the right right direction. The "chicken tax" killed it from coming to the US market.
VW met with Canadian and American dealerships in 2012 to talk about introducing the pickup to those markets.<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volkswagen_Amarok#cite_note-42"><span>[</span>42<span>]</span></a> For the U.S., it would likely necessitate moving production or building a plant somewhere in North America, to avoid the chicken tax enacted to light commercial vehicles.

And yet, they make Atlas here. Instead of the Passat, which they killed anyway, they could push the Amarok.
But it is a never-ending mystery, called VW.
