Alot of owners of Tremec 3650 transmissions (Mustang GT's) complain of hard or notchy shifting, especially in 05+, since the shifter is remote mounted.

Ford says to use Mercon V 4.0 quarts. Tremec says 3.2 of Mobil synthetic ATF. Others claim Pennzoil Syncromesh is great, but not RP (will mess up syncros).

Get this one that people are really praising:

SECRET SAUCE:
1.) 24oz (.75 quart) bottle of Lucas Tranny Fix
2.) 77.44oz (2.42 quarts) of Mobil1 Dextron III ATF fluid

It's the bee's knees, they claim. The Mach 1 and Bullit forum users almost use this sauce exclusively, claiming buttery smooth shifts with no problems to be reported.

Discuss! I'm due for a change.

I think that Lucas doesnt put out a great product adn would use Lubeguard instead myself...Ive done both and prefer the lubeguard red bottle to smooth shifts....I ahve also just switched to better ATFs and found that it made a difference without additives so you may want to try that before concocting a sauce for it.

^^^ The 3650 is a 5 speed MANUAL gearbox.

302; do they mean the M1 Universal ATF since there is no more Dexron 3 branded Mobil synthetic?

Does anyone know what's in the Lucas TF??

I had a 2008 Mustang GT with the T3650 gearbox. The OEM Mercon V ATF fill was notchy in cold weather until the transmission warmed up. The fix was Amsoil Multi ATF. That stuff is amazing.
