Second leaky Napa oil filter!

Well, after a 20 mile drive earler this morning, I just went and looked and the Delco is nice and dry!

I just emailed Wix with a link to this thread so they can see the pictures. Hope they come and take a look. I've got 6 more Napa filters left from the case and not sure what to do with them at this point.

How tight are your putting the filter on? When you take the filter off, is the gasket deformed?

Well, I spin on the filter by hand then snug it up about 1/4 turn. Doing it the same for the past 34 years! LOL

These 2 Napa's are the first 2 i've ever had leak. My son has had 3 on his new engine and none of them leaked and they came from the same case.

The Delco is still dry this morning, but the funny hum is still there. Bummer! Oh well.

there's a foot-long filter that fits a SBC? what's the part number?

The first thing I would have done is to snug it up a little bit more!

I used Napa Gold filters regularly in a prior vehicle with narry a problem, so I used one on my new Avalanche.

Last night I looked underneath, so I could report that these reportedly leaky filters were an anomally. But, guess what?

Yep, the one I put in about 1,500 miles ago is leaking exactly the same as in the posted photos.

I have tried the K&N on my old truck (1998 5.7L Silverado) with good results, so this is going to be my oil filter of choice.
