good morning! THANKS everyone for your help!

I wash my car weekly, usually by hand, and use collinite wax. i hear that Klasse high gloss sealant glaze really lasts a long time.

is that true? did you ever use it? Mass. has lots of snow and ice. it would be great if it lasts noticeably longer!

i hear you can even put collinite wax over it when done.

best

Collinite 476 is a great topper to a sealant. I dolled up our Fit with Collinite 476 over Duragloss 105 sealant, and it glows a week later. Never seen that with any other combination. If that's an indication of how long it lasts, it should last a good long time.

Excuse me, I'm off to wrestle with the Collinite on the Cruze now...

In my experience, Klasse SG is less sealer and more glaze. It's a pretty topper, not something to really boost the longevity. Honestly, using the Klasse twins together, I noticed no longevity benefit from using AIO by itself, versus topping it with SG. It is pretty though.

All that said, I hate, hate, hate applying and removing SG. So much so that I gave up on it and just continued using AIO by itself or topping it with a carnauba.

As mentioned Klasse SG can be difficult to remove if overapplied. It really wouldn't offer any longevity over the Collinite, I see no reason to switch. To get it to adhere properly you would have to strip the paint completely and start over. That's no easy task with Collinite and certainly not worth the effort.

For all practical purposes Collinite products can be considered a hybrid sealant with wax in it. They work as well durability wise as any full sealant I've ever come across.

You can put Collinite over sealants---that is precisely what I do every 6 months. You will not find a wax that has more longevity than Collinite. There are sealants that can last longer, but not too many. Since I prefer the warm glow of waxes I top Duragloss 501 with Collinite 845.

thanks guys!! we have a real winter up here, ice, snow, salt on roads. how often should I:

wash car during the winter?

apply duragloss and wax?

i overmaintain this car.

thanks

Once close to winter setting in would be sufficient to carry you through it then again in the spring. The key is in the preparation work.

Washing is another story during your winters.......whenever you can do it. That could be weekly or every two months depending. Look into some of the rinseless washes like Optimum No Rinse Wash & Shine.

I live in Mass also and apply Klasse SG in the Fall. Water still beads in the Spring. I find that a spritz of detailer or even water will help buff the SG off if you are having difficulty. I've been using both the AIO and SG on both cars for years and am impressed with the results. A little goes a long way. BTW I use a porter cable to apply the Klasse twins.

same here. I live in the snow area/salt... I just use hose and wash it off with water... Save time. at least it helps.
