Screen Protectors for Infotainment Displays

The current automotive trend is to have large, glossy touchscreens for infotainment. As a result, fingerprints and glare have become an issue. Some of them are also easily scratched.

I installed a matte screen protector on this Lexus 14" screen. I am not crazy about the look, but boy does it help with the glare and the fingerprints.

I think the placement of the screen on the dash compared to the windshield also matters. I had a matte anti-glare one on an aftermarket 10.4" vertical screen in the focus and it only marginally helped against glare; but the windshield of the focus was sloped so far back that the sun at high noon would shine down on it and kill my eyes anyways.

my wifes car has the touchpad and the button on the steering wheel. we never have to touch the screen, although it does have to capability. when lexus updated the infotainment in 21 they really addressed the complaints and made good improvements.

My wife has a '24 Grand Highlander and I had bought a screen protector for it quite some time ago but before installing it, I read too many reviews as well as comments at a forum that the cut or fit was terrible. A lot of people chose to trim it themselves while others pulled them off after installing and threw them in the trash.

What one (brand) did you get ?

Spigen. Overall fitment is solid. The lower right hand corner is a bit worse than the rest of the piece, but is still acceptable.

when I swapped the Sync 3 unit into my C-max, the amazon seller included a Glass screen protector. turned out to be the same brand I got for my Phone, but, shows WAY more finger prints than the Sync 2 screen ever did...

How?

Adhesives do weird things in the heat, probably just me being the typical BITOG OCD type. I see you bought a Spigen, they are a reputable brand.

Maybe I’ll replace it every couple of years since adhesive does age.

I just clean mine with Plexus....

VW from 2018 has 175k and screen looks new when wiped no scratches.
