Hi, this is a 1995 Dodge Colt (Mitsubishi Mirage) with a 5 speed standard transmission, 150,000 miles on the 1.5l engine, and during very cold weather the speedometer screeches, so I have to stop and wait for the car to get warm and then screeching goes away. Is there an easy way to fix this? thanks, The Colonel.

Simple as long as it can be serviced. Remove it and lube it using an appropriate lube.

Lubricating the cable is typically not that difficult to do...

but you could also move somewhere that doesn't get "very cold weather". It's downright balmy in Chicago during the winter!
