Saw this today.....some people

OP says he's from Maine and if Google is to believed, "Maine requires all vehicles to undergo a safety inspection once a year."

If we learned anything from 3 years ago, it's that people think claims of safety and "for your own good" trump any conception of mind-your-own-business.
Yes, I'm from Maine. And we have annual safety inspections. This would in no way pass. That doesn't mean that we don't see things like this from time to time. In fact, I didn't think to look and see where the truck was from. It could have been out of state, but I doubt it.

Lots of “farm” rolls around on tires like that

I was behind an aged dump truck with rear duals like that.

If it holds air it can take more wear.

Summer slicks !!!!

I'm guessing this driver went with the hard compound.

Well for your information, I don't particularly care where he's from and I do like to get giddy from time to time. Proper state inspections can and will prevent this dangerous situation far more often than not. Cheers to being giddy! ;) 🍻

Well, here you go: The OP is from Maine and they do have an annual inspection so this case just proves how annual state inspections are not "preventing these dangerous situations".

Nice even wear... no cords.. what more could you want? ;)
I was gonna make a comment that his front end alignment is on point given that even wear pattern...and he keeps a close eye on his inflation pressures as well.

Well he also said that he didn’t see if this truck was from Maine. Those inspections will more than likely keep more dangerous idiots with their dangerous pieces of (you know what) from driving around putting others at risk because they can’t control their junk in a downpour or a hard braking situation. If the tires are that bad, imagine what else needs addressing.
That truck is one example, how many more would he see out and about if they didn’t have inspections? Nobody knows for sure, but the inspections have to help reduce that number in my opinion. Nothing will change my mind on this subject.
I need to calm down,…I’m getting giddy. 😉🍻

Annnnnd, I have my Maine Motor Vehicle Inspection license.

Trust me, we run a tidy and clean shop with this stuff. I'm a reasonable person, and I take safety inspections seriously. Could be my life it saves.
