You should have a housing on your car already. If you don't you might notice a rapid drip of coolant.

New naked thermostats (w/o housing) come with a cardboard "tampon applicator" tube, you just have to push the ears of the stat and twist. You can also use a 19mm ish socket.

Yea I just wasn't sure If the Thermostat housing since it isn't original would work . I read somewhere it wouldn't but I went to oreillys and I think it will work.

The housings have an o-ring and are pretty idiot proof. New T-stat should come with a new o-ring; you can reuse the old one but it's a dumb idea.

The housing that came with the original Thermostat doesn't fit the stant Thermostat so I took grinder and shaped the tabs on the stat and now It works great

gauge reads right below half

No kidding.

Let me know if you have more heat tomorrow. You may not, but curious if it made a difference.

Well the Thermostat that was in it I put in boiling water and it opened fine but when letting it cool the water got to 160 no change in Thermostat temp then I stuck it in the freezer and it slowly I mean over the course of 5 mins went about half way in. And wouldn't close all the way. I guess it was shot a little

Runs right below half. It idles a little better only very slightly . I don't know if fuel mileage was better yet but the heater is sure hot.:) I'm happy with it .

That's great. A little improvement in idle is big for that.

Now make sure you have NGK Copper Spark Plugs in it for sure, keep the oil topped off & other maintenance items checked and you're good-to-go!
