Many sets of tires $70 - $100 off plus free installation.

I almost wish my tires were worn out I still have 5/32. Will go another 6k.

Since today is the last day if you want it better move fast.

I just purchased a set of tires from Sam's Club online and I believe the sale ends TODAY May 4, 2025.
I got hosed by Sams club on tires. Maybe it was an error on the salesmans part but... I was gifted a set of tires 12 plus years ago for a different vehicle. They told my parents that It was no problem for them to buy me tires and that I could go to any Sam's Club for free balancing and rotations warranty etc. The Sam's club in Colorado told me absolutely not that "I have to have my own club card". Then because I didn't buy them they wanted to charge me for every rotation and balancing. I've used discount tire ever since.

We are supposed to be getting a Sam's club in 2 years. Hope it's less crowded than Costco
Sam’s Club is sooooo much better than Costco, just a different crowd, less stuck up. We have both in our area, almost next door to each other, Sam’s Club is geared more towards families, Costco more towards the double income, no kids. I suppose it is a matter of personal preference.

I go to both Sam's Club and Costco because they carry different products that I want to purchase. Costco no longer carries tires for the cars we own, so using Sam's Club this time around.

I generally purchase gas at Costco because it is Top Tier.

If one doesn't carry an item we want, the other usually has it.

I agree with Trashman's view on who the two clubs cater to.

Sam’s scan and go is the best thing.

When you leave they don’t even have to check your cart because it is scanned to make sure you are not stealing anything.

Costco lines to check out always long but they do move pretty fast.

I get Sam’s price but buy from Discount Tire.

The Pirelli as+ 3 are $875
Discount Tire $1,090

$215 less.

This was likely an honest misunderstanding between the salesman and your parents. In order for the work order paperwork to be created at the tire center service desk, an active Sam's Club membership card has to be scanned to access the menu screen. If your parents had accompanied you to the service desk, they would have performed the balance/rotations for free per the warranty. I have purchased tires at Sam's Club for my (non-member) parents for nearly 20 years and they have always performed rotations, re-balances, and flat repairs for free on my parents' vehicles when I accompany them and present my membership card.

Nowadays, you are not even allowed to enter a Sam's Club or Costco store without showing/scanning your active membership card, much less access the tire center service desk.

In Colorado by law you can access the pharmacy ( At least in the recent past) without a membership card. I would just tell the door person that I'm using the pharmacy and pay cash. I eventually got a Costco card. I was able to use Costco when I didn't have insurance and it saved me a bundle. Now that I have insurance, and my doctors office has its own pharmacy it's not an issue.

Costco: We would like our branded credit card to have an interchange rate of 0%.
AMEX: Zero?! We cannot do zero. That is not commensurate with our risk.
Citi: We can do zero!

2015 and the rest is history.

That was a sad day at AMEX.

Costco was 24%? of their entire interest bearing portfolio. That reveals something about Costco members despite having a large median income (again like Amazon, I am both a shareholder and member, add fanboy).

AMEX salespeople put their noses to the grindstone and offset some of the losses by partnering with Sam’s Club. My understanding was not with an exclusive branded card, but that Sam’s now accepted AMEX.

Costco is packed on a work day as their members are working from home. I would expect Sam’s to be less so. Walmart is empty at these times as their shoppers are at work, physically, working, not shopping. My .02 ymmv

This is at least the second time you posted this. Sams Clubs are for members- we all make mistakes- your parents got bad info.
To be clear...this was twelve years ago and you are still holding a grudge. Did paying for rotations put a dent in your long term retirement plans? I'm very curious about this....

I got a bad Apple at Kroger once.

No maybe it was a fluke. No grudge just don't buy tires at Sam's Club.

I hear you on the entitled crowd at Costco. But not being geared for families I’d have to disagree. And certain things I do like. If not buying on sale don’t feel ripped off. No worrying about coupons. Top tier gas. And I have enough for years, but say LED lightbulbs for $2.99 when $25+ on amazon. A lot of people don’t like Costco for their hiring practices. At any rate we’ve gotten 4 sets of tires there. Oddly my wife’s needed 5 repairs, really odd. Nice to know free patch. Or pro rata was fair on replacement. Same when Premier LTX wore out at 43k.

Become a Plus member - gives you free shipping >$50 orders and free delivery >$50.

We buy more stuff free shipping than I do inside the club.

So if I didn't live close enough to actually shop the store I would still be a Plus member and just order stuff and have it shipped.

My daughter has had at least 1 child in diapers for the last 9 years - and some of that time she had 2. The youngest is trurning two and he is already showing signs he wants to be "potty trained"

I buy the diapers and the saving just on that one item saved more than the membership fee.
