Good afternoon folks. So, what do we know about safety Kleen motor oils? I talked to a man on the phone about their "Eco power" that my friends fleet uses and the tech/ guy didn't say much. Said e would email me a PDS and some info about their stuff. Sit I'll waiting.... I don't think any re refined and recycled oil is bad; what do you folks think?

It showed really good UOA's on my vehicle. For the price I think it isn't a bad product. Just wish it was local. I had to order a case from SK.

They used to sell the eco power oil at Walmart in Canada. It used to retail for around $17 for a 5 litre jug. One day they had it marked down to $6 per jug. I snatched up the last 6 jugs of 5w20/5w30. I used it twice and had no issues. I never did a UOA on it

I sold the rest of my stash since I was switching over to PP.

If you can get it for a good price I'd say go for it.

Pretty sure this is recycled oil. They used to sell it all over New York at carwash type quick lubes.

Nothing wrong with it as long as it meets spec.

Thanks Garak for the info about this oil

. Thanks for the info folks

I believe they all meet the SN/GF-5 and CJ-4/SM as the case may be. They don't meet any fancy ACEA specs, or likely even dexos1, for that matter. But, for fleet usage, they're a great option. In fact, Walmart Canada's TuneIt line is one of the few things right about Walmart Canada. It's nice for people to be able to get 5w-20 in a five gallon pail, and that's about the only source and at a fantastic price.

I used some generic oils made by Safety Kleen in the past. The price was unbeatable as I recall paying under $2 a quart. A huge plus since I was broke back then. I went through lots of that stuff as I had a terrible oil burning engine. No problem with the oil itself. In a thirsty engine it would get eaten up the same as the expensive stuff.
