I had a gift card and couldn’t resist. I also have a few loose 1/2” drive proto sockets coming from eBay. I found a few good deals….

These are 3/8 which works good with my Milwaukee stubby impact. They don’t take up that much space. I limited the number of 1/2” sockets that I’ll never use so that’s good. Total outlay is not bad.

Nice, where did you get them at?

I'd buy used sae sockets, regular or impact. No use spending more if you will rarely use them.

Here is a craftsman usa impact deep set. for $50.

I was able to go smaller and get what I needed. This is a great little set, and very compact.

I found a couple other Proto 1/2” sockets loose that were a good deal so I’ll have them too. But far from a whole set, much smaller. I’m set.

You can't go wrong with Williams. As good as Snap On IMO. Oh, you're showing the Proto's. Those look nice too!
I have a set from Lowes, Kobalt, but they are USA made by Williams! 3/8" drive impacts.

I have some of each. I have Williams, proto, SK, etc.

lowes used to have some good us made sockets. I think they sold a lot of Armstrong made ones iirc.

Got a bunch of proto sockets in a ziploc bag. Barely used. Big ones.

May not use all of them but the price was right.

So this ends the saga of SAE sockets. Maybe some of these I should even sell… once I figure out what is on my truck and what isn’t. That little red proto set was probably all I ever need. But I like tools…
